M3

There are three main learning styles :
  • Ÿ  Visual
  • Ÿ  Auditory
  • Ÿ  Kinaesthetic
Visual learning is where someone learns through what they see e.g. pictures and posters. This can help aid personal development because it provides a way for people who have this learning style to adapt new techniques etc. This way of learning can be through pictures and colours, it provides an easy way for people to link information to a memorable colour or image so they are able to learn new skills.

Auditory learning is where someone learns through what they hear. This is another way to help aid personal development, similar to visual learning but through different techniques. So through sounds and music certain things can be linked to specific information. This is a way for people to learn new skills and go through personal development.

Kinaesthetic learning is where someone learns through physical activity and movement. This is similar to visual and auditory learning, however through movement and physical activity people are able to learn better than they would in a lesson or from writing. By physically learning to do something instead of listening or seeing what needs to be learned is very effective for some people as they are getting involved in the subject and are not just on the sidelines.

Throughout my project I used visual and auditory learning, as I carried out a lot of research to complete many of the tasks. I also used diagrams and video tutorials to help me with my learning, therefore used visual learning. The video tutorials were also an auditory learning technique as I learnt through what I had heard. However I have not used kinaesthetic learning in my projects so far.

task 5 - D1

Throughout my pieces of work I used a number of different channels to complete the work. These are:
  • ·         Verbal communication
  • ·         Teacher broadcasting demonstration
  • ·         Using Blogger
  • ·         Using Gmail
  • ·         Publishing images (prints screens)
  • ·         Using PowerPoint
  • ·         Using publisher
  • ·         Using Google calendar

I used verbal communication by talking to the teacher and peers to get feedback to improve my work or to help me if I was struggling with a task. An advantage of this would be that I could get a quick answer; therefore I could continue my work as soon as possible. A disadvantage of this would be that the peers may not be able to help with the work; therefore I would not be able to get the information needed.

I used teacher broadcasting demonstration by allowing me and others to see the work needed to be done from their computer to mine. An advantage to this would be I would be clear and understand what to do next in the tasks. A disadvantage to this would be that if I did not understand then I would have to use verbal communication in order to get the information required.

I used Blogger to upload all my tasks, track my progress and see if there are any corrections needed to be done. An advantage to this would be that it is all in one place and is easily accessible to me. A disadvantage to this would be it was quite difficult to someone at the start if they are new to it and is hard to navigate around the site.

I used Publishing Images (prints screens) to show evidence of the work I have completed. An advantage of this would be to make it easier to understand how some of the processes work, however there no disadvantages that i am aware of.

I used PowerPoint to complete task 2. An advantage of this work would be that it looks professional and is easy to use; however on this particular program there are no disadvantages to me.

I used publisher to complete task 1 and task 4. An advantage of this would be creating work that is appealing to the eye while looking professional. A disadvantage of this would be that it is hard to use the program, so I had to use verbal communication to ask for help.

Using Google Calendar to allow me to plan work I needed to complete and show work that I have done e.g. training in task 3. An advantage of using this would be to create a clear plan of all tasks needed to complete. A disadvantage would be to many tasks may be set on one day and I would be unable to complete them all.
